A new update on Spencer Rattler’s draft grade could influence his decision to enter his name into NFL consideration. That report has fans around the college football world talking.

The star passer was once a projected first-round pick while at Oklahoma. After being benched for Caleb Williams then transferring to South Carolina, Rattler’s been forced to reinvent himself.

Things got off to a tenuous start in Columbia as he struggled early with the Gamecocks. Through the first 10 games, Rattler averaged just 197 yards per game with eight touchdowns and nine interceptions. That early performance obviously hurt his draft stock, but a late season surge elevated his name back into the professional discussion.

Over South Carolina’s final three games, the signal caller threw for 1,044 yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the Gamecocks to top-10 wins over Tennessee and Clemson, and nearly pulled off an upset in the Gator Bowl versus Notre Dame.

Prior to that postseason matchup with the Irish, many believed that Rattler was NFL bound.

Now, he has a decision to make.

Players on the cusp of first- or second-day NFL draft consideration often try to gather information before making that choice. They rely on grades from NFL scouts and draft day positioning. A recent report shows what professional personnel think of Spencer Rattler.

24/7 Sports insider Brad Crawford took to Twitter to update fans on the quarterback’s projections in the upcoming draft. He believes Rattler’s been given a Day 3  grade.

“Have been told that Spencer Rattler… heard back from the college advisory committee, with evaluations suggesting [he] would be Day 3 NFL Draft pick. Expect a decision at any time.”

That message has many on social media reacting, as they offer their opinions of what the passer should do with his future.

One person believes he should stay at South Carolina another year, saying, “Day 3? Surely one has to assume at least Rattler comes back then. No shot he’d make more as a round 4-5 QB than he would with NIL.”

Most others agreed.

Another fan commented, “Spencer could end up a DAY 1 pick with a good year.” He’s surely shown the potential over the last three games.

There were some, though, that think he should head to the NFL. This person said, “If you get with the RIGHT TEAM, it doesn’t matter where you get DRAFTED. No one saw Brock Purdy leading a team to the playoffs after becoming MR IRRELEVANT in last year’s draft.”

With Spencer Rattler hearing back on his projected draft spot, a decision is likely to be made soon.
