Dan Le Batard is one of the biggest names in sports media and he’s going through it right now after the recent passing of his brother, David.

Early Tuesday morning, Le Batard announced that his brother tragically passed away. Since then, the sports world has consoled him.

David Le Batard, also known as Lebo, was a popular street artist based in Miami. He was 50-years old when he passed away on Tuesday.

According to The Miami Herald, it was revealed that David Le Batard “was diagnosed with an undisclosed illness about a year ago.” Dan went on to describe the loss of his brother, “my best friend for over 50 years,” as “inconceivable.”

Throughout the day, Dan Le Batard has shared old photographs of himself and his brother with a heart emoji. Here is one example.

On his podcast, The Le Batard Show, Dan shared a lengthy statement about the passing of his brother.

“I don’t have a lot of experience with grief, but I had been grieving him for a year. “Because when he was diagnosed more than a year ago, he’s been steadily deteriorating since. And it’s been brutally, brutally hard to watch a poison eat him up from the inside and one of the biggest spirits I’ve ever seen consumed by illness.”

It’s a sad situation that has rocked the sports world. So much so, that everyone reached out and shared their condolences.

Ariel Helwani shared kind words.

ESPN’s own Jorge Sedano had something to say too.

Roy Bellamy a senior producer of The Le Batard Show shared a picture of himself with David.

And here is an incredibly touching video that Dan Le Batard shared himself.

Lebo’s presence was clearly felt in Miami. Condolences to Dan Le Batard and the entire Le Batard family for the loss of David.
