A high school football team in Ohio has the biggest offensive line in the country and it’s not even close. St. Edward High School’s front five is made up of five giants. Almost to the point that it’s unfair.

St. Edward, a Roman Catholic school, is located in Lakewood, Ohio. It was founded in 1949 and does not allow women. The all-boys school enrolls about 1,000 students each year.

The Eagles boast one the most dominant high school football teams in the country. They went 15-1 last season en route to their second-straight OHSAA Division-I championship and show no signs of slowing down in 2023.

St. Edward is already 3-0 by a combined score of 97-31. It is currently ranked as a top-15 program and will be considered the favorite in each of its next seven regular season games.

St. Edward High School’s offensive line is MASSIVE.

A large part of the Eagles’ success stems from their offensive line. Good offenses cannot operate without a good offensive line and St. Edward has a great offensive line. They are monsters.

Three of the five guys are 6-foot-5 or taller. Four of five guys are 295 pounds or heavier.

To put that in perspective, the average NFL offensive lineman stands just shy of 6-foot-5, 315 pounds. These kids are still in high school.

Brothers Deontae and Devontae Armstrong anchor the left side and are committed to Ohio State. Right tackle Ben Roebuck is committed to Michigan. The other two have yet to commit but it is likely that they both will end up at Power Five schools as well.

It’s hard not to run for positive yardage behind the Eagles’ offensive line. To the point that it’s almost unfair.

They play bully ball in the best way.

St. Edward will play a few more ranked teams this season. Its schedule isn’t a cakewalk.

However, with an offensive line that averages 6-foot-5, 299 pounds leading the way, it is hard to imagine that the Eagles won’t be able to pound the rock and go undefeated. Three-peat?
