The Steelers have reportedly expended offensive coordinator Matt Canada’s responsibilities, placing a strong emphasis on his involvement in the development of quarterback Kenny Pickett.

This development was reported by NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

Canada will retain his role as the play-caller for the Steelers but will now also engage in a more direct mentorship and training of young quarterback Kenny Pickett.

This decision comes in stark contrast to sentiments expressed by the Steelers fanbase. Over the past week, as the Steelers’ offense encountered difficulties on the field, vocal calls for Canada’s dismissal have intensified.

During their Week 2 home game against the Browns, a chant of “Fire Canada” resonated through the stadium during the fourth quarter, in which the offense had -7 yards of offense.

In response, disgruntled fans initiated a petition calling for Canada’s removal, and one supporter even enlisted the services of actor Dean Norris from “Breaking Bad” to deliver a pointed message: “get the f— out of Pittsburgh.”

However, the Steelers organization has chosen to double down on their faith in Matt Canada, believing that this strategic realignment will be a catalyst for positive change and contribute to their future success.
