The Matt Canada era is over in Pittsburgh.

On Tuesday morning, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they were firing Canada as their offensive coordinator due to the team’s struggles on offense all season.

After Sunday’s loss vs the Browns, several players, including Najee Harris, appeared to criticize Canada’s playcalling.

On Sunday, Harris was asked whether the team’s winning record was encouraging despite the offensive struggles.

“You could do two things,” he said. “You could look at the record and say, ‘OK, we’re still good right now.’ Or we could look at the record and be like, ‘If we keep playing this type of football, how long is that s— going to last?’ I look at it like, ‘How long that s— going to last?’ Y’all could look at it like it’s a good record, but I mean it’s the NFL. Winning how we did, it’s not going to get us nowhere.”

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett also seemed annoyed that the offense couldn’t adjust to adjustments made against them.

“The plan was, they play a lot of man-to-man,” Pickett told reporters “They didn’t play a lot of man-to-man today. They threw a lot of zone looks at us. Different zone looks.

“We were expecting them to come in and play man. We gotta adjust better.”

Steelers fans, who have been calling for the firing of Canada, celebrated on social media.
