One of the more interesting bits of news to come out of WrestleMania 35 weekend involves a couple of pro athletes who have recently “retired” from their sports: Rob Gronkowski and Conor McGregor.

Gronkowski, who has been involved with the WWE in storylines prior to his retirement, has long been pegged to at some point become a WWE superstar.

McGregor, on the other hand, has proven that he will do anything for a big payday, and has also been rumored to perhaps at some point perhaps follow in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey in making a move from the UFC to the WWE.

On Saturday, WWE chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon admitted to TMZ that she would be VERY interested in signing both men to WWE contracts.

“Anybody who has a real big personality. I’d love to have Gronk in the ring. Conor McGregor, huge personality,” said McMahon. “It’s really about bringing in the biggest personalities with the best athletic ability.”

As for whether there have been any discussions between her and the two men, McMahon would only say, “We are always having conversations.”

Meanwhile, following Ireland’s Becky Lynch winning both Women’s Championships by defeating the aforementioned Rousey, as well as Charlotte Flair, in the WrestleMania 35 main event, McGregor sent his fellow countrywoman his congratulations on Twitter, along with some cryptic statements that could lead one to believe that his move to the WWE is imminent.

“Congrats to Irelands Becky Lynch, the WWE’s first Champ Champ. Wow!” wrote McGregor. “What a match these ladies put on! Ronda Rousey is something special in that ring, as is Charlotte Flair of the Flair dynasty! Stephanie McMahon you are right, I could not do what these athletes do. Or could I…”

Maybe some day, McGregor can become a champ-champ again, just like Lynch.
