- The New York Knicks blew a 28-point lead to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
- The loss comes despite the fact that the Nets were without Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons.
- ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith absolutely torched the underperforming team in an epic Hall of Fame rant.
After making the playoffs a year ago and leading New Yorkers to believe that the team had truly returned to relevance, the New York Knicks have reverted back to the status quo this year, as the team currently sits in the 12 seed in the east with a 25-34 record.
The nightmare of a 2021-22 season only got worse on Wednesday night as the Knicks blew a 28-point lead at home to the Brooklyn Nets, who were playing with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons.
However, while the loss may have been brutal for Knicks fans, it was an absolute win for everyone else in the sports world as it gave Stephen A. Smith the platform to add to his Rant Hall of Fame. Seriously. Just watch Mike Greenberg, Mike Wilbon, and Jalen Rose: leaned back, grins on their faces — they know they are watching a master at work, a hot take Van Gogh painting his Starry Night.

With just 23 games left in the regular season, the New York Knicks will likely find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the postseason. As mentioned above, the Knicks are currently twelfth in the East. To qualify for the Play-In Tournament, the Knicks will need to finish the season as, at least, the 10 seed. Currently, New York is three games behind the tenth-seeded Atlanta Hawks. This, of course, means Stephen A. will be a Lakers and Heat fan when the playoffs roll around.
