DraftKings Offers Wild Odds For Super Bowl TD Bet That Is Essentially Just Throwing Money Away

The NFL playoffs have yet to begin, but DraftKings is already allowing its customers to place a very specific bet on the Super Bowl. Its fine print is absolutely brutal.

‘Super Bowl Anytime Touchdown Scorer’ bets are currently live on the sportsbook. You can currently place a bet on more than 100 different NFL players to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl next month.

The list includes:

  • Isaiah Likely +330
  • James Cook +550
  • Ceedee Lamb +650
  • Stefon Diggs +800
  • Raheem Mostert +1200
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown +1300
  • Travis Kelce +2200
  • Kyle Juszczyk +2500
  • Kyren Williams +3000
  • Nico Collins +3000
  • Kadarius Toney +4500
  • A.J. Dillon +5000
  • Jordan Love +6000
  • Kareem Hunt +9000

Christian McCaffrey offers the lowest payout at +125. Ben Skowronek, Allen Robinson and Connor Heyward provide the largest payout at +25000.

There are two elements involved with betting on an Anytime Touchdown Scorer in the Super Bowl prior to Super Wildcard Weekend and it is a very ill-advised wager. Not only must the elected player score a touchdown in the Super Bowl, his team has to make the Super Bowl first.

There is a catch! All bets are action, which means that it is even riskier.

Per DraftKings: “If selected player does not participate in the Super Bowl, the bet will still be action.”

What does that mean exactly? It means that your odds of hitting the bet are insanely slim.

Don’t bet on an anytime touchdown scorer in the Super Bowl… yet.

For example, let’s say that you bet on DeVonta Smith to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl. Philadelphia plays at Tampa Bay on Monday night. If the Eagles lose, the bet on Smith is considered to be a loss. It will not be voided because they didn’t make it out of the Wild Card round.

That’s crazy. And if you want to go even crazier, you can bet on any of those players to score the first touchdown of the Super Bowl…

Just to put the insanity in perspective, let’s use Pittsburgh running back Najee Harris.

As of right this moment, Harris is listed at +9000 to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, the Steelers are listed at +12000 to make the Super Bowl.

DraftKings is offering sports bettors a larger payout if Pittsburgh runs through the AFC then it is for Pittsburgh to run through the AFC and get Harris in the end zone during the Super Bowl. Wild stuff!

(… don’t do it ...)
