The Clemson football team took down ACC rival Florida State last Saturday, 36-24. As it turns out, it would be Mike Norvell’s last game at the helm.

That decision was made after fans completely abandoned the Seminoles in the fourth quarter. Despite a non-existent crowd, Tait Reynolds says the stadium was still loud.

He accused Florida State of pumping fake crowd noise onto the field. It did little to help the ‘Noles against the Tigers.

Clemson beat the Florida State football team.

The score was not close for much of game. Clemson jumped out to a 23-10 first half lead. That advantage improved to 29-10 by the start of the fourth quarter.

Florida State attempted to claw back into is with two late touchdowns. There was life after an Ashton Daniels touchdown pass with 5:30 remaining that pulled the Seminoles back to within five points.

Unfortunately, any hopes of a comeback were shattered on the ensuing drive. Tait Reynolds scrambled 79 yards to the house on third-and-long. It gave the Tigers a 12-point cushion. Game over.

By that time, much of the home crowd had shuffled out. Fans bailed on the ‘Noles when they were down three scores. But despite there being no butts in the seats, Reynolds says it was still loud on the field. He has his suspicions as to why.
