Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes are at very different stages of their NFL fandom. That was very clear during a fairly normal football sequence during Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium.
Swift, who is dating Travis Kelce, used to be an Eagles fan. She may have attended a professional football game in the past, but it was not documented in the same way that it has been this season if so.
Either way, the international superstar is relatively new to the sport. Taylor Swift has yet to be desensitized to the amount of violence that occurs on every play.
On the other hand, Brittany Mahomes has been watching her husband play since high school. Very few players take bone-crushing hits like quarterbacks. Brittany has seen Patrick get mollywhopped before. It’s nothing new.
The dichotomy between their fandom was on full display over the weekend after CBS cut to the suite.
Taylor Swift was panicked!
Kelce went up for a jump ball in the end zone. Chargers linebacker Eric Kendricks laid a solid hit to break up the would-be touchdown, which knocked the Chiefs tight end to the ground.
Swift was very concerned as Kelce landed awkwardly. Mahomes was not.
The latter initially reacted more to the lack of touchdown than the hit. She threw her hands down in frustration and the CBS broadcast showed her cuss.
Right next to her, the former gasped and held her breath with her hands over her face. Swift was worried about her boyfriend. Mahomes was bummed out by the lack of touchdown.
And then pass interference was called on Kendricks!
Mahomes was thrilled. Swift had no idea what had just happened.
It is very funny to watch Swift react to a pretty tame hit by NFL standards. Her understanding of the brutality of football is limited to this point. Meanwhile, Mahomes was more focused on the flag.
