Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift would have been unlikely friends just a few months ago. Now, the two are ditching their significant others to hang out just a few days before the biggest game of the season.
The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and girlfriend of his favorite target, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, were spotted out and about in Manhattan Tuesday night a few days after the Chiefs’ huge 27-24 AFC Divisional Round win on the road in Buffalo. The two exited the same car, although it is not known if the car was random or one from Taylor Swift’s car collection, which is insane by the way.
Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift becoming great friends is something that would have seemed hilariously far-fetched, but that’s what has happened as a result of one of the biggest NFL side-plots in league history.
Ever since Taylor Swift showed up at the Chiefs’ week three game in Kansas City against the Chicago Bears to watch her then-reported love interest, American pop culture has been consumed with the collision of the two biggest pop culture forces in America right now: the NFL, and Taylor Swift.
Many at the time figured that Swift’s appearance would be a one-off and that it was just to respect Kelce’s invitation to attend a game. But, she kept coming back, and has attended eleven Chiefs games, with the team going 8-3 in those games, including 2-0 in the playoffs.
There’s no doubt that Swift, who will head back on her record-setting “Eras Tour” a few days before the Super Bowl, has ingratiated herself in the culture of the Chiefs team, and Brittany Mahomes is a big part of that. It seems like the star quarterback’s wife has taken it upon herself to integrate Swift with the rest of the team’s significant others.
The Love Story singer seems to be loving the WAG life, and was in suite with the Kelce and Mahomes families during that Bills win that saw Travis’s brother, Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce, jump into the stands shirtless
She’s scheduled to perform in Tokyo, Japan February 7-10. But, with the time difference from Japan to Las Vegas, she will have plenty of time to get back to the states in time for the Super Bowl, if Kelce, Mahomes, and the Chiefs upset the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. If they win, it will be the team’s fourth Super Bowl trip in five years.
