It was the year of Taylor Swift well before Time Magazine named her Time Person of the Year on Wednesday, joining the ranks of the most famous and influential figures of the last century. But, none of that really matters. The world’s most famous woman is now a football girl.

That’s according to the excellent profile piece by Sam Lansky of Time Magazine.

In case you just came back from a three-months long trip to the Amazon Rainforest, the pop megastar is in a very serious, very public relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

There were some rumors of the relationship in August and September. But, everything changed in week 3 of the NFL season when Taylor Swift surprisingly showed up at the Chiefs-Bears game in Kansas City. News of her coming to the game broke just minutes before kickoff, and it sent the nation into a frenzy. Social media went crazy, the television cameras couldn’t stop showing her, and the Swift-NFL mania was off and running. A week later, she showed up at MetLife Stadium to watch the Chiefs take on the Jets with a star-studded entourage, and the game got absolutely monstrous viewership. Since, she’s shown up to three more Chiefs games, and with her tour on hiatus until February, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her at every game the rest of the season. Taylor Swift even showed up to Green Bay to watch the Chiefs on Sunday night, albeit in a loss, the first Kansas City loss with her in attendance.

So, what does Taylor Swift think of her newfound football exposure? Official NFL social media accounts quickly hopped on a quote from that Time article to turn it into a graphic.

I agree, Taylor, football is great. I discovered the greatest sport on earth before I entered kindergarten. I couldn’t imagine going 33 years without it.

Travis Kelce and the Chiefs take on the Bills in Kansas City in a huge Sunday afternoon game that is a rematch of their classic 2022 AFC Divisional Round thriller. Of note, Bills quarterback Josh Allen is dating pop star Hailee Steinfeld.
