The Kansas City Police Department seems concerned about the Taylor Swift situation at Wednesday’s Chiefs Super Bowl parade.

500,000 people are expected to attend Wednesday’s parade in downtown Kansas City.

According to a report from KCUR, city officials may have told Swift to stay home during the parade to avoid security issues.

Speaking to KCUR’s Up To Date, Kansas City Manager Brian Platt expects Swift to help drive more people to the event — if even to get a glimpse of the superstar. He suggests that fans may start lining up along the parade route the night before the celebration.

“That’s gonna be a whole second level of security issues that we have to deal with — the crowds and all that sort of thing,” Platt said. “So we are more than ready. We have no concerns with our safety protocols and what we’re doing to make sure that the route will be free of any issues.”

Platt hinted that city officials may have already told Swift’s team that her presence at the parade may be too much for the city’s security to handle on its own.

“I can’t confirm or deny but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us,” he said.

Kansas City mayor Quinton Lucas refuted KCUR’s report but didn’t confirm if Swift would be at the parade.

“Not true at all. Just had a great chat with @kcpolice Chief Graves. We’re enchanted to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep all safe. ”

“We’ll have a great championship celebration for our Chiefs!”

As of Tuesday it’s still unclear if Swift will make it to the parade due in no small part to the fact that she’s also performing in in Melbourne, Australia within 36 hours of the Chiefs’ parade.
