Jun 10, 2026; New York, New York, USA; Taylor Swift on the court after game four of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden.
While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could have selected just about anywhere on Earth for their upcoming wedding, the couple ultimately settled on Madison Square Garden.
While neither Swift nor Kelce is from New York City originally, Swift has lived there for several years and has even seemingly adopted the New York Knicks as her favorite NBA team. At least, while it’s popular to do so.
Swift’s relationship with the city and the Knicks has apparently grown so deep that she even invited members of the team to the wedding.
However, there’s a catch.
Taylor Swift Snubs Knicks Bench Players From Wedding Invite
According to Page Six, Swift sent out an invite to the New York Knicks’ starting five of Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Karl-Anthony Towns for the upcoming nuptials.
However, the rest of the team is not invited.
“Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Karl-Anthony Towns and Brunson join more than 1,000 guests, who are invited to what’s sure to be the wedding of the summer. It’s unclear if they accepted,” the report states.
Swift recently expressed her love for the Knicks while accepting an induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
“The quality of my speaking voice is the product of [something] that I am not sorry for… I was lucky enough to go to a Knicks game last night,” she said with a rasp. “I screamed for 100% of it,” she continued about the Knicks game. “And then I got home and was like, ‘I gotta stop screaming.’”
You gotta imagine that Jose Alvarado is sitting somewhere at home absolutely stewing at the fact that he didn’t get an invite.
