Maybe the Serbian basketball coach wasn’t just being a blowhard when he said that Team USA would need the power of God to beat them in the upcoming FIBA World Cup in China.
This claim was validated in Los Angeles on Wednesday when Team USA got waxed by a group of G League and overseas players. Twice.
A team consisting of Scotty Hopson (New Zealand Breakers), Chris Chiozza (Houston Rockets throwaway) and Justin Anderson (Atlanta Hawks throwaway) took it to Team USA in the 10-minute scrimmage and won by 19 points (36-17).
Below is the roster that beat up on a Gregg Popovich coached team consisting of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez.
Here's the LA Select Team roster USA Basketball assembled, mostly from the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, currently scrimmaging in LA tonight versus the 15 NBA players vying to make the World Cup Team. Insult to injury…
As if the Team USA drubbing vs. the Select Team wasn’t bad enough, sources tell @TheAthletic that it was their second loss to the Select Team on the day (the first one was by three, with the game going just 10 minutes). Not a great way to go into Friday’s exhibition v. Spain.

Video has emerged of the Team USA thrashing, and it’s evident the squad has a lot to work on between now and their exhibition game against Spain on Friday.

Ok, here’s the real video.
Maybe a little roster shakeup is in order.
