South Carolina stormed the field after Saturday’s college football game against Tennessee. Unfortunately, it appears as though Volunteers linebacker Jeremiah Telander threw a punch during the mayhem in a viral video that was filmed by a fan.
A second viral video of a separate incident appears to be generated by artificial intelligence.
Even if the second video is fake and only one college football player lost his temper after the game, it is not a great look for the program. I would imagine that Telander will face the consequences of his actions during the upcoming week.
South Carolina fans stormed the field.
No. 11-ranked Tennessee went into Columbia as 2.5-point underdogs to 3-3 South Carolina at 6-1. It is hard to win at Brice-Williams Stadium during Cocktober— especially off of a big rivalry win on the third Saturday in October.
Vegas was right, again. The Gamecocks forced a fumble at the Volunteers’ 38-yard-line with 33 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter with the score tied at 24 to set up a game-winning field goal.

Dylan Stewart somehow ended up in a one-on-one situation and made the biggest play of the game. Malik Orsan made a 48-yard field goal as time expired just four plays and 29 seconds later.

Tennessee was one of six ranked teams to lose on Saturday. It was an incredible scene at the flagship university of the Palmetto State.

Unfortunately, as often seems to be the case with field storms in recent weeks, months and years, the losing team could not keep its composure. The disappointment and frustration of the loss boiled over into an unfortunate incident (that could’ve been a lot worse).
Tennessee linebacker Jeremiah Telander threw a punch in a video that is not AI.
Not long after the kick went through the uprights, South Carolina defensive back Triston Lewis found himself face-to-face with Tennessee linebacker Jeremiah Telander. Lewis is a freshman. Telander is listed on the roster a senior.
I don’t know exactly what the latter might or might not’ve said to the latter, but the latter swung on the former. It looked like Telander whiffed on his punch. He was immediately pulled away by a member of the coaching staff and an armed security officer. Lewis proceeded to mock him.

There is a second video that also went viral on social media after the game. However, it does not appear to be real. I will link the video below but I would not be surprised if it gets deleted. It is not a real video.
If you look closely, the Tennessee player wearing No. 5 appears to acquire some kind of pole in his hand after he charges at the fan and knocks him to the ground. Where did that pole come from? Great question. The pole does not exist.
And if you watch the Tennessee player’s movements, you will notice the abnormalities. This video is not real.
As far as I am aware, Telander was involved in the only legitimate on-field incident after the Volunteers’ loss in Columbia on Saturday. Regardless of what caused him to snap, his behavior is not acceptable. I do expect that he will be punished internally. That could mean log rolls or it could mean a suspension, we’ll see.
