It’s a matter of when and where to, not if, Deshaun Watson gets traded by the Houston Texans. We’ve known that to be true for quite some time now, and with Watson not due to face any criminal charges, the trade talks are ramping up in a major way.

Watson has met with the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Carolina Panthers over the last couple of days. That’s news in and of itself, but a new report adds a totally different dynamic into the situation.

According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Watson was only able to meet with those teams after Houston gave him the green light to do so after approving trade packages from each respective team.

If that is indeed the case, Watson will seemingly get to choose which team he wants to go to seeing as how Houston has already agreed upon the trade packages.

Russini’s report is missing one team that has been linked to Watson, the Atlanta Falcons.

A report from Adam Schefter indicated that the Falcons have entered the mix to possibly land Watson, who grew up in Georgia.

It could be an oversight from Russini to leave the Falcons out of her list of teams, or the Texans made an exception and have allowed Watson to meet with Atlanta without approving a trade package.
