This was supposed to be the year it finally happened for Texas A&M. Jimbo Fisher is in his 5th year as the team’s head coach. They brought in this year’s top recruiting class. They even finished last season as a top-25 team. Everything was looking up for the Aggies heading into the 2022 season.

Then they ran into Appalachian State. The Mountaineers were coming off of a heartbreaking Week 1 loss. They fought back from being down by 20 entering the 4th quarter to force overtime. Unfortunately, they would come up just short on a 2-point conversion in overtime and lose by 2.

Against Texas A&M this week, no such theatrics were necessary.The Mountaineers never trailed the Aggies o their way to a 17-14 win.

Following the A&M loss, football fans are roasting the Aggies.

One Twitter user said, “Jimbo, sign the #1 recruiting class of all time and then lose to winless Appalachian State.”

Another account added, “Appalachian State head coach Shawn Clark makes $425,000 per season. Jimbo will make nine million. You don’t always get what you pay for.”

Another pointed out how costly this loss was for Texas A&M, saying, “Jimbo Fisher is paid nearly $800k per game. App State got paid $1.5 million for playing in College Station. Texas A&M just paid $2.3 million to get handed its ass on a platter by the Mountaineers.”
