To the victors go the spoils, and for Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian that meant enjoying a delicious Fletcher’s corn dog after the Horns blew out Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.
But this wasn’t just any corn dog. This corn dog was a brutal troll job of Sooners head coach Brent Venables.
See, Fletcher’s “corny dogs” are a famous feature of the Texas State Fair, which plays host to the Red River game every year. Earlier in the week, Venables promised to enjoy one of the famed corn dogs after his team beat the Longhorns.
“I have never eaten anything at the fair other than what they bring me on the bus afterward,” Venables said.
Asked specifically about the corn dogs, he answered earnestly.
“I don’t have any idea what you’re talking about, to be honest with you.
“My body might shut down with one of those fried corn dogs,” Venables contimued. “We get a W, I’m going to have one.”
Well, they did not get a W. In fact, they didn’t come close.
The Longhorns clobbered the Sooners to the tune of a 34-3 blowout.
So when it came time for Sarkisian to attend the postgame press conference, he showed up with a delicious snack in hand.

Steve Sarkisian Houses Corn Dog After Beating Hated Rival Oklahoma
Sarkisian actually housed the corn dog as the presser continued. Unlike Venables, he looks like he’s enjoyed a corn dog or two in his time in Austin.
I got my corn dog, y’all,” Sarkisian yelled to media members in attendance.
Asked how it was, he replied “It’s amazing!”
Hey, when you beat the brakes off your hated rival, just about any food or drink afterward is going to taste sweet. But we could really go for one of those Fletcher’s famous Corny Dogs right about now.
