Florida left Austin with a win over Texas on Saturday. Unfortunately, the Longhorns could not handle defeat.
A fan somehow made his way onto the field after the game and confronted a group of Gators.
It was an unfortunate end to an exciting college football game. Lose with class!
Florida won the college football game.
The Gators went into Austin as 11.5-point underdogs. They won almost every statistical category and won the game outright.
Florida totaled 313 yards of offense on 81 plays in 38 minutes of possession, converted eight third down attempts and two fourth down attempts, allowed only one sack, and did not commit a turnover. Texas totaled only 272 yards of offense on 50 plays in 21 minutes of possession, converted two third down attempts and one fourth down attempt, allowed five sacks and fumbled.
Despite this, the Longhorns had a chance to win. They couldn’t get it done. Arch Manning did not play well. The defense did not have an answer for the Gators’ balanced attack.
A Texas fan threw a middle finger at the Gators.
It is not uncommon to see this kind of behavior in victory. Especially when the crowd storms the field. We saw it with Lane Kiffin at Kentucky just a few weeks ago. A group of Wildcats followed the head coach back toward the tunnel while flipping him the bird.
Rarely do we see this kind of interaction in defeat. Especially when it was not a controversial finish.
If there is controversy at the end of the game, we might see some fans throw beer or trash at the referees or the opponents in protest. They might give them the middle finger from the crowd. That is not what happened on Saturday. This was on the field.
A guy wearing a Texas pullover and jeans made his way onto the gridiron after the clock hit zero. He walked right up to the Gators and started chirping in their direction. One hand held his phone to record a video. His other hand held up the middle finger.
As you could imagine, Florida did not appreciate the gesture. Coaches had to step in between the players to avoid a fight.
Hated to see this after the game. Fans are frustrated but no need to run onto the field and do this. pic.twitter.com/7aPogvnfyD

Bad look for the Longhorns. For this guy to end up on the field after the game means he either jumped over the railing and ran past security or had a sideline pass. I would guess the latter. If that is the case, he won’t get another one!
