The Texas baseball team lost an SEC series to Tennessee over the weekend. Jackson Schlossnagle, the son of the Longhorns’ head coach, was bitter after watching the team get pummeled.
He coped on social media with an excuse for Texas’s series clinching loss. He was quickly trolled after the fact.
Schlossnagle blamed the ballpark dimensions for the Horns’ poor pitching performance in Game 2. Many pointed out that Texas hitters had the same opportunities but failed to capitalize.
It was sour grapes.
Texas baseball was shelled.
Tennessee won the series opener 5-1 on Friday. It then erupted for 14 runs in Game 2 to seal a series victory.
In that matchup, the Vols bashed six bombs. Many were no-doubters.

It was a home run party in Knoxville. The Vols flexed their muscles with an impressive showing.

The Tennessee lineup’s power was on full display. No ballpark would’ve prevented these blasts from exiting the playing field.

The Vols crushed six homers on Saturday. The distances on those dingers were recorded as follows:
Garrett Wright – 401 ft
Trent Grindlinger – 396 ft
Manny Marin – 387 ft
Blake Grimmer – 398 ft
Reese Chapman – 400 ft
Stone Lawless – 409 ft
Jackson Schlossnagle was salty.
He took to social media to air his frustrations. In doing so, he created an excuse.
This ballpark is the most bogus trampoline park s— I’ve ever seen. Any routine flyball has a shot.

Lindsey Nelson Stadium is one of the smaller venues in SEC baseball with dimensions of 320 feet down the lines and 390 feet to dead centerfield.
It is, however, comparable to others around the league. Arkansas’s Baum Walker Stadium is also 320 down the lines. Georgia’s Foley Field is even shorter in right at 314.
Mississippi and Mississippi State both have fields with a 390 distance to center. South Carolina is 325 to the foul poles and 390 to center.
Texas’s baseball field is larger. There is no argument. UFCU Disch-Falk Field is 340 feet down the leftfield line, 400 to center, and 325 in right. The power alleys are about the same at 365-370.
Jim Schlossnagle’s son was flamed for his online take. College baseball fans flooded his timeline with criticism.
Your offense gets to play in the same park hope this helps👍

Both teams played on the same field. Each had the opportunity to showcase their power, and they both did.
Tennessee hit eight home runs across the three-game set. Texas hit seven. Six of the Vols’ blasts just happened to come in one contest – all of which likely would’ve left the Longhorns’ ballpark, too.
That’s more of a reflection on the poor pitching performance.
Texas would salvage Game 3 to avoid the sweep, but Jackson Schlossnagle took the ultimate L on social media.
