This morning, Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple went on Comcast SportsNet’sBreakfast On Broad to talk about the strange questions asked at the combine and revealed an inappropriate question by a member of the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff.

“I’ve been asked a lot of weird questions,” Apple said. “I don’t know if I could say them on TV. I think the Falcons coach—one of the coaches—was like, so do you like men? It was like the first thing he asked me. I was just like no. … I guess he was joking, but they just ask most of these questions to see how you’re gonna react.”

After the interview aired, Falcons head coach Dan Quinn apologized for the question which was asked by one of his coaches.

I am really disappointed in the question that was asked by one of our coaches. I have spoken to the coach that interviewed Eli Apple and explained to him how inappropriate and unprofessional this was. I have reiterated this to the entire coaching staff and I want to apologize to Eli for this even coming up. This is not what the Atlanta Falcons are about and it is not how we are going to conduct ourselves.

Let’s hope the NFL steps in and finally puts a halt to this type of questioning at the combine. It’s not only unprofessional but it’s also disgusting and I wouldn’t have had a problem if Apple would have punched the coach in the face.
