Uber Driver’s Story About Driving Tiger Woods Proves He’s A Man Of The People

It’s hard for most people to relate to the life of a world-famous athlete—and that’s especially true when the athlete in question is Tiger Woods.

The legendary golfer has spent the vast majority of his life in the spotlight. He made his television debut at the age of two when he showed off his already impressive skills on The Mike Douglas Show, and he devoted the bulk of his childhood to mastering the game that allowed him to achieve fame and fortune before winning The Masters by a staggering 12 strokes as a 21-year-old in 1997.

Virtually every golfer who’s spent time with Woods has a “Tiger Story,” and many of those anecdotes (like Camilo Villegas’ tale about getting a $25,000 bill after spilling red wine on his private jet) have a tendency to frame him as someone who’s spent most of his life inhabiting a world most Regular Joes will never even come close to sniffing.

However, if a new one that recently surfaced is any indication, you may have more in common with him than you might think.

The story in question was shared by the user behind The Par Train Twitter account, who relayed some excerpts from an Uber driver in Orlando who claimed he’d given Tiger (or, as he goes by in the app, “T”) a ride earlier this month.

It seems Tiger is not only a regular Uber rider but one who’s more than happy to make conversation with the people who pick him up.

While there’s no way to verify this actually went down, it appears Woods is also very aware of his reputation as a poor tipper and is doing what he can to make amends.

What a guy.
