Who doesn’t love mini-golf? You can absolutely despise golf or be a scratch golfer and mini-golf is always a good decision. Having a couple of drinks on the course and putting a little money on the table adds a little bit of flair too, but that’s neither here nor there.

There is some exciting news in the mini-golf world as Tiger Woods announced on Thursday that he is entering a strategic partnership with a new high-tech putting and entertainment business called PopStroke. Think TopGolf, but strictly putting and Woods is set to design the putting courses.

The PopStroke experience is enhanced with a technology platform consisting of the soon-to-be released electronic scorekeeping golf ball, the “iPutt” ball. The ball transmits scores electronically to the custom PopStroke app, which can be downloaded in the Apple and Android App stores. Players will be able to compete against each other in a tournament environment while earning “Pop Bucks” through the PopStroke loyalty rewards app program.

That sounds pretty good to me. Everyone knows that keeping score while playing mini-golf is the biggest bummer. Another huge plus, according to Golfweek, all your booze and food can be ordered on the app and it’s brought to you on the course. Woods has experience in the food and entertainment world with his restaurant The Woods in Jupiter, Fla.

Currently there is only one location, in Port St. Lucie, Fla., but it looks incredible as you can see in the video below.

It looks absolutely phenomenal and definitely intriguing for both the intense golfer, the person that may play once a year or even somebody that’s never picked up a golf club. TopGolf is a good time, but maybe a little too intense and a bit time consuming for some, but PopStroke seems like a great in-between.
