Remember way back in March and April when it was rumored that either (a) there was going to be a televised roast of Tom Brady, or (b) Brady himself was going to start doing standup comedy?
Then remember how those two rumors ended up being morphed into one?
On March 1, 2023, we wrote, “Recent reports of TB12 wanting to venture into the funny business are bogus. The 7-time Super Bowl champion is, however, in talks with Netflix to be the center of a roast special.”
It was supposedly going to be called “The Greatest Roast of All Time” or “GROAT.” Get it?
There was even talk about what topics were going to be off-limits at the roast.
“Say whatever you want about him โ but not about his family,” one source near TB12 claimed.
Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s actually happening. You can even buy tickets to attend it.
“The streamer has formally announced a second installment of its Netflix is a Joke Fest, which will be held May 2 to 12, with more than 300 shows across 35-plus Los Angeles venues,” wrote THR’s Lacey Rose.
โWe have the privilege of working with comedians who are selling out arenas, winning awards and building fandoms in the millions,” Robbie Praw, Netflixโs VP, stand-up and comedy formats, said in a statement. “In the 10 years that weโve been doing stand-up weโve seen the art form reach levels we didnโt think possible. This festival aims to capture this moment by bringing together the worldโs best comedians for an unforgettable 11 days.โ
Apparently that will involve one Tom Brady and yes, it is currently being billed as “The Greatest Roast of All Time.”
Jeff Ross will yet again serve as the nightโs Roastmaster General when the comedy event takes place Saturday, May 5, in Los Angeles at The Forum.
Of course, this will hardly be the first time Tom Brady has ever been roasted.

My good friend @TomBrady just texted me and said heโs retiring. What a career!
And that heโs also joined @Twitter.
Good to see him comply with our dress code. He loves his new fanny pack.. pic.twitter.com/723znQ0DpZ— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) April 1, 2019
It only made sense for Peyton to take a jab at @TomBrady in his iconic HOF speech. ๐
