Tony the Corgi is one win away from the start of a dynasty in San Francisco. He won his second-straight title at the K9ers Corgi Cup at halftime of the 49ers game on Christmas Day.

Tony, who turned five in May, is one of the fastest Corgis in the country. His resume is well-decorated!

  • 2022 Corgi Con Race Champion
  • 2023 Corgi Con Race Runner-Up
  • Two-time Corgi Nationals Runner-Up
  • Two-time Corgi Cup Champion

His performance at nationals back in February was impressive.

Tony’s showing during Monday night’s NFL game was even more so!

It was dominant. Not even close.

He led wire-to-wire in both his heat and the championship.

The victory marked Tony’s second-straight Corgi Cup title. He went back-to-back!

Should Tony return to race in 2024 and come away with his third-straight win, it would put him among the all-time greats like Tom Brady, Adam Vinatieri, Jerry Rice, and George Blanda. All he does is win on Christmas.

Controversy at the Corgi Cup?

Not to take away from Tony’s well-deserved and hard-earned championship, but there was some dissension surrounding the race. One of his top challengers had his performance hindered by another dog.

There was some deliberate contact that caused the other corgi to slow down in an effort to avoid the big hit and forced him off of his path. It shook up the entire standings.

Tony likely would have won anyway. He’s wicked fast.

However, if there was going to be an upset, the dog that got clipped was step-for-step during the first few yards. Things might have been closer if not for the illegal contact.

All-in-all, the Corgi Cup was a smash hit once again! POV video from one of Tony’s challengers provides an awesome look at what it is like to race from the eyes of a corgi.

It is as awesome as it sounds.

Tony will have a chance to go back-to-back-to-back in 2024. If he can get the job done, it is a dynasty!
