Topps just released an Anne Hathaway Arsenal F.C. autograph card, and many fans are not happy about it, especially collectors.

For those unfamiliar, the actress has gone on record several times about her love for the Gunners. She has been seen singing the club anthem “North London Forever.” She has frequently been seen rocking an Arsenal team jersey. She has also heaped praise on footballers like Declan Rice and Thierry Henry.

In an interview with Meryl Streep earlier this year, Anne Hathaway explained how she became an Arsenal F.C. fan.

“North London forever whatever the weather. There was a squad called The Invincibles,” she explained. “And in it maybe the greatest player of all time, Thierry Henry was playing and I was watching with my dad.

“And James McAvoy was narrating it for him, and my dad was like that is it, I’m an Arsenal fan. And once someone from your family declares, that is so. So yeah, my dad would never have allowed me to support any other team.”

Hathway even semi-predicted that Arsenal would become champions of England for the first time in 22 years, telling Streep, “We’ve got a great squad and if anybody is going to do this, it’s these guys. North London forever.”

She also told a similar story to ESPN UK while promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2 with Stanley Tucci.

So Anne Hathaway is pretty legit in her fandom.

Should Topps have given Anne Hathaway her own Arsenal card?

However, just because she is a fan of Arsenal, it doesn’t mean she should get her own Topps trading card. At least, according to many comments on the announcement on X that revealed the card.

“Nobody wants this. Stick to what you know. Is Fanatics going woke?” one person asked.

We just make cards for anything these days, I see,” another fan commented.

“Topps stop it… these kind of cards is disrespecting the card collecting world, a mockery almost,” read another comment.

“I’ve seen a lot of CRINGE today but this is peak CRINGE,” someone else wrote.
