Despite not having actually made a move during this NBA offseason, the Toronto Raptors have been at the center of some big rumors.

Those rumors have mostly revolved around interest in Pascal Siakam, but he isn’t the only player that teams have been interested in as the Raptors potentially begin rebuilding.

There has also reportedly been quite a bit of interest in OG Anunoby.

The Raptors haven’t seemed all that interested in trading him so far, but that didn’t stop one notable team from making a strong offer for him that the Raptors ended up rejecting.

According to The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami, the Golden State Warriors called the Raptors to offer them Jordan Poole in a deal for Anunoby before they eventually traded him to the Wizards for Chris Paul.

This certainly would have been a better deal for the Warriors than the one they ended up making.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t get the Raptors to make the deal.

It’s surprising that the Golden State Warriors didn’t inquire about Siakam if they were already having trade talks with the Raptors.

They need help in the post more than they need it on the wing and could potentially lose Draymond Green to free agency this offseason.

Instead, they went after the young wing and ended up having to settle for a deal for an aging point guard instead.

Turning down the deal leaves the Raptors with some big decisions to still make this offseason after a disappointing 2022-23 season and the firing of their head coach.

Maybe we’ll still see the Toronto Raptors make some big moves this offseason, but it looks like Jordan Poole wasn’t the piece that could entice them.
