Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn came together to put an end to the tension that had been brewing since Blackburn’s controversial hit on Hunter.

It’s a relief to see these two athletes showing that there’s no room for hate in sports, especially after Blackburn faced death threats in the wake of his hit on Hunter. That’s just not how we should handle things.

Just two weeks after that intense Colorado vs. Colorado State game, which had fans up in arms, Hunter and Blackburn decided to bury the hatchet.

They met up this week, and from the looks of it, they bro-hugged it out while someone else recorded the moment.

After talking for awhile the two decided to go bowling, with the winner donating $2,000 to charity of his choice.

If you recall, Blackburn’s hit on Hunter during the September 16th game raised a lot of eyebrows. It was a late hit, and many people thought it was a bit dirty. Surprisingly, he wasn’t called for targeting, but he did get penalized for it.

Hunter’s Buffaloes managed to win that the game, 43-35, but Travis had to sit out for most of it due to the injury sustained from the collision with Blackburn.

Hunter was taken to the hospital and turns out he suffered a lacerated liver.

Blackburn, a Colorado State captain, has been dealing with a lot of heat for that play, even receiving death threats. University police are still looking into those threats, so let’s hope they get to the bottom of it soon.

Despite all the uproar from fans, it was pretty clear from the get-go that there was no bad blood between Travis, the Colorado team, and Henry. Even Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, stepped in, urging fans to back off and leave Blackburn alone.

Hunter himself echoed that sentiment, saying, “It’s football at the end of the day. Stuff like that’s gonna happen. He did what he was supposed to do. It’s football.”

And judging by the sight of these two guys hanging out, it seems like everything’s water under the bridge. Good on them.
