Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders were on hand to take in the Nuggets’ season opener against Lakers on Tuesday. The duo, along with Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, was in attendance to see Denver’s ring ceremony in Ball Arena.

They took in all the festivities as the home team celebrated its 2023 NBA Finals championship, the franchise’s first league title.

The Buffalo teammates are hoping to see similar success during their stint in Boulder, though that could depend on Shedeur’s decision to enter the NFL Draft this spring.

Should he return, Colorado would have chance to build upon the success seen in this season.

The Buffs are currently 4-3 though they’ve dropped three of their last four contests. Still, they’ve exceeded expectations, at least according to Vegas’s projections. They’ll have an opportunity to land a Top 25 win this Saturday against UCLA and wash away the bad taste from their second half collapse versus Stanford.

Hopefully, some of the Nuggets’ championship mentality will rub off on Sanders and Hunter as they duo watches that ring ceremony take place.

It’s fair to say the Buffs have already made an impact on those Denver players, seeing team members rep CU throughout the week.

That includes in their pregame outfit choice ahead of the season opener.

The teammates got to the arena early to enjoy the celebration, giving social media followers a courtside view of the festivities.

The duo even got an opportunity to put up some shots, though they might wish to have that chance back.

“Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter aren’t exactly draining buckets,” one account said of the pregame shootaround “‘A’ for effort, though!”

The teammates also chimed in on their NBA comps, going away from Denver to find the right reference.

“We like LeBron and D Wade,” Hunter said before Sanders responded, “Or Steph and Klay.”

Of course, Sanders’ jump shot might need to improve a bit to be considered “the shooter” of the bunch.

All in all, it seemed like the Buffs team members enjoyed their visit to the season opener. The focus will go back to football as the weekend approaches.
