It’s been nearly two weeks since the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl. That meant that we got a ton of Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce content.

There’s little doubt the Chiefs’ superstar tight end and the world’s biggest pop star are the globe’s most well-known couple at the moment. Ever since their relationship went public back in September, they’ve been larger than life.

Taylor Swift resumed her record-breaking Eras Tour last week with three shows in Melbourne, Australia. The shows at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds had the biggest crowds of Swift’s career. Just under 100,000 saw her each night.

Travis Kelce elected to partake in an extended celebration of his third Super Bowl win last week. But, now, he’s joining his girlfriend in Australia for her four shows in Sydney.

Kelce arrived on Thursday in Sydney time, and the Australian news media went nuts. It was as if he was the King arriving, or something. Take a listen.

Of note, that is not Jason Kelce that is with him. It’s actually former Penn State basketball player Ross Travis. Travis tried his hand at football with the Chiefs, and the two have been close ever since.

I’m pretty surprised that the Australian news media covered Travis Kelce’s arrival with such enthusiasm. We hear all the time how no one else cares about the NFL besides Americans. But, they seem to think it’s a pretty big deal that Travis Kelce is joining Taylor Swift in America.
