Donald Trump is going to the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Sunday, the first sitting president to do so.
The U.S. Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting the president, said in a statement Tuesday that it has had staff on the ground for days preparing for his visit. Trump will watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
While some people are angry about Trump attending the Super Bowl, Kelce seemed pretty stoked about the idea of playing in front of a sitting president.
“That’s awesome,” said Kelce. “It’s a great honor, no matter who the president is. I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life.”
Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes had a similar response.
“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” Mahomes said. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.”
