In what could prove to be a prelude to the AFC Championship Game this season, the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious from their matchup in Germany against the Miami Dolphins.

That is a LONG flight from Kansas City for professional athletes who are constantly on the move. It’s 8.5+ hours in the air and though most of the athletes are meant to get some sleep, commercial planes aren’t built to fit the frames of NFL players.

Speaking with his brother Jason on the latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce (Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment), Travis Kelce discussed how shocked he was that the coaching staff and their family gave up the First Class seats this time so players could fit better.

Jason Kelce: “What was the hours though? How far is it?”

Travis Kelce: “I think it was like eight hours from Kansas City, eight or nine hours, eight and a half?”

Jason Kelce: “Did you guys get a bigger plane? Do you could get the lie down flat seats”

Travis Kelce: “Yeah, I mean it was like a Virgin Airlines flight. We were lucky the coaches took the seats in the back this time with their wives. They gave the players a chance to lie down.”

Jason Kelce: “How nice of them”

Travis Kelce: “Dude I wasn’t expecting that, I was expecting to be in the back of the f—— plane like we did in London but sure enough this time around…”

It is worth mentioning that it’s not as if NFL coaching staffs are made up of tiny dudes. Much of NFL coaching staffs are made up of former players. But it is a stand up move to give those extra large first class seats to the players so they could get some sleep.
