A number of notable names headed to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to watch Caitlin Clark play her final home game at Iowa on Sunday. That included Travis Scott, who ended up at the center of a viral video thanks to his decision to give some love to the man most people know as “Jake From State Farm.”

On Sunday, 14,998 people packed inside the soldout venue in Ames where Caitlin Clark surpassed Pete Maravich for the most points any college basketball player has scored over the course of their career while leading the sixth-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes to a 93-83 win over Ohio State, who headed into the game sitting at #2 in the country.

There were plenty of celebrities in the crowd, including some basketball royalty in the form of Maya Moore and  Lynette Woodard (the latter of whom held the all-time women’s record before Clark surpassed her last month) as well as legendary MLB pitcher Nolan Ryan.

However, it’s hard to think of a bigger name than Travis Scott, who got a police escort while walking to his seat. The video of his arrival quickly made the rounds online courtesy of the fairly unexpected pit stop he made on the way, as plenty of people were surprised to see he went out of his way to dap up Kevin Miles, the actor who is best known for playing Jake From State Farm.

Real ones know we were originally introduced to Jake From State Farm when the Khaki King made his debut in a commercial that first aired in 2011. However, that actor was eventually replaced by Miles, who’s been the face of the brand (which inked Clark to an NIL deal in 2023) since 2020 and has ascended to “Flo From Progressive” levels of celebrity stardom.

It’s not clear why Miles (who was rocking a custom Iowa jacket designed by Kristin Juszczyk) attracted the attention of one of the biggest rappers on the planet, but at this point, it seems like it’s Jake From State Farm’s world and the rest of us are just lucky enough to live in it.
