Trent Williams, who has career earnings of $218 million, is being sued for allegedly failing to make payments on a 2018 Porsche 911 since 2021.
TMZ reports that OpenRoad Auto Group, a Washington-based car dealership, is claiming that Williams agreed to make 48 monthly payments before the car’s four-year lease expires on August 31, 2025, when he signed it in August 2021. Williams allegedly only made two bank debit payments, totaling $10,617.26, before closing the account and has not made any payments since.
OpenRoad also claims in the lawsuit that the vehicle’s whereabouts are unknown. Williams reportedly sold the vehicle to an automaker, which then sold it to another party despite the Porsche 911 lacking a legitimate title.
The company says Trent Williams owes $244,199.28 in past-due lease payments, along with fees and penalties, plus additional charges including attorneys’ fees and litigation costs. OpenRoad is suing Trent for breach of contract, fraud, and other offenses.
The 38-year-old Williams, a 12-time Pro Bowler, joined the 49ers in 2020. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, he was named a first-team All-Pro. He previously played with the Washington Commanders for 10 seasons after being the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft. Washington inducted him into its Greatest Players list as part of the franchise’s 90th anniversary celebration.
During the offseason, he signed a two-year, $50 million contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers. Through the 2026 season, he will have made $218,005,666 in career earnings over his 16-year NFL career.
The NFL and the 49ers have not commented on the lawsuit. TMZ reportedly reached out to Williams for comment, but had not received a response by the time of their report.
