LSU Running Back Trey Holly Breaks Silence On Attempted Murder Arrest By Declaring Innocence

Trey Holly

Trey Holly claims that he is “100% innocent.” The former LSU running back made it abundantly clear that he plans to prove his hands are clean in a statement that broke his silence on a recent arrest.

Holly, a former three-star recruit in the Class of 2023, was in position to compete for a more significant number of carries during his sophomore season with the Tigers. However, he is currently serving an indefinite suspension that was handed down by the university shortly after his arrest.

The sophomore ball-carrier is linked to a shooting that took place at an apartment complex in his hometown on Feb. 9. Holly turned himself in to authorities and was taken into custody on three felony charges last week. He was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of illegal use of a weapon.

According to the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office in Farmerville, Louisiana, a woman was shot in the back and a man was shot in the leg during the incident that led to Holly’s arrest. Two other people were also arrested, and the investigation is ongoing so there could be more.

Holly claimed total innocence in a strong statement on social media on Saturday. He also seemed to admit that he was at the scene of the crime, and said that he cannot comment further.

As you guys know I was recently arrested on 3 felony charges. I have been falsely identified, accused, and arrested. I am 100% innocent and the people that know me know this is not my character at all. I was not involved in the incident at all. I was at home which is where the incident took place. I turned myself in because I was notified of an arrest warranted and I wanted to fully cooperate. Due to this being an ongoing investigation I cannot give many details. To my fans I’m sorry for the confusion but you guys know this is not me at all. I will come back better than ever and I look forward to proving my innocence. To the REAL ONES thank you guys for standing beside me through this tough time, I got this and my story will be told one day and it will be LEGENDARY. #1TSPERSONAL💙

Further details regarding what will happen next are unclear at this time. The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office is still working to figure out exactly how things went down and who was involved. That is the first step.

Court dates and other logistical components will be determined from there. It is early in the process.

Trey Holly will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation as it continues.
