Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson pulled off one of the more unique comebacks you’ll ever see during his team’s 27-19 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night. In fact, it was so unusual that even WWE legends Triple H and Paul Heyman couldn’t help but comment.

Christian Watson, who suffered a broken rib and was coughing up blood during the game, actually left Lambeau Field in an ambulance to undergo testing at a hospital.

Then, about an hour later, he returned in the ambulance, ran out of the tunnel and went right back into the game. Because, apparently, that’s something NFL players can do now.

Christian Watson’s Return From Hospital Looked Like Something Out Of WWE

Christian Watson was injured late in the second quarter when two Carolina Panthers defenders landed on him as he hit the ground after catching a 53-yard pass from quarterback Jordan Love.

After Watson exited the game, he began spitting up blood, which caused doctors to rush him to the hospital for a CT scan. Fortunately, the tests ruled out internal bleeding, and Watson was cleared to return with a protective pad over his injured rib.

He somehow finished the game with eight receptions for 113 yards, including two catches after returning from the hospital. (Which caused a bit of a mess for DraftKings and its Early Exit policy.)

“I used to watch WWE as a kid,” Watson said. “I felt like I was watching WWE Smackdown vs. Raw or something, seeing the cameras on me when I was coming out of the ambulance.”

That caught the attention of some people who know a thing or two about dramatic entrances.

Triple H And Paul Heyman Loved Christian Watson’s WWE-Style Entrance

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H responded to Watson’s post-game comments on social media, joking that the Packers receiver was only missing one thing.

“This isn’t a video game… you did that!!! Next time we’ll work on getting you some entrance music,” Triple H wrote on X.

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman also chimed in, recalling a similar storyline.

“We did this with Sting in 1991 in WCW (vs. Ravishing Rick Rude), and the industry has repeated it with great success in numerous circumstances,” Heyman commented.

He then jokingly congratulated the NFL’s “creative team,” hinting that football was predetermined.

Watson’s quarterback, Jordan Love, was also shocked, saying he didn’t know why fans were celebrating until he looked up and saw the wide receiver take the field.

About the only thing missing was someone hitting Christian Watson with a steel chair. Then again, considering he’d already broken a rib and spent part of the game in a hospital, he probably didn’t need any more excitement.
