Tristan Thompson Says Mario Chalmers ‘On Some Sucker S***’ After Comments About LeBron James

It’s been five years since Mario Chalmers last stepped foot on an NBA court.

The former Kansas Jayhawks star played nine seasons in the NBA, winning two championships as a teammate of LeBron James on the Miami Heat.

But that didn’t keep Chalmers from taking some shots at James on a recent podcast appearance.

“Nobody fears Bron,” Chalmers said on the Playmaker HQ podcast. “Nobody’s like, ‘Damn, I gotta go play against Bron tonight.’ Nobody said that. I don’t know why, because I seen people be scared when they actually line up to him, but they’re not scared thinking about that matchup.”

To Chalmers’ credit, James has finally shown signs of aging in recent years. The 19-time all-star played in 56 games or fewer in each of the last three seasons.

But even this year, at 38 years old, James is averaging 29.5 points, 6.9 assists and 8.4 rebounds per game. Those numbers are incredible regardless of age.

Now another one of James’ former teammates is coming to his defense.

Tristan Thompson played alongside James for four seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The pair won a championship together in 2016. And now Thompson has had enough of Chalmers’ talk.

“That s*** pisses me off. Mario Chalmers, at one point you were probably texting LeBron to get on a team and get a job,” Thompson said on The Draymond Green Show. “…Guys be on some sucker s***. I don’t like that kind of stuff… Guys are retired and not playing basketball, now you want to talk s*** about a guy that you won a championship with?”

It’s hard to argue with Thompson’s point. But Chalmers has a pretty good strategy as well.

Have any of you thought about the name Mario Chalmers in the last few years before now? Didn’t think so.

As they say, any publicity if good publicity.
