Troy Aikman has finally reacted to the backlash he received over his off-the-cuff comment about NFL military flyovers.
On Monday in video released by Defector media, Aikman and his announcing partner Joe Buck were caught on a hot mic mocking the NFL’s military pregame flyover as a waste of money by the government.

TROY AIKMAN: That’s a lot of jet fuel just to do a little flyover.
JOE BUCK: That’s your hard-earned money and your tax dollars at work!
AIKMAN: That stuff ain’t happening with [a] Kamala-Biden ticket. I’ll tell you that right now, partner.
After receiving an enormous amount of criticism on the Internet for his hot mic moment — from all corners of the country, including the Navy Seal who shot Bin Laden — Aikman issued a statement on Twitter where he says he didn’t mean to disparage the military with his flyover comment and that he considers himself an “unwavering patriot.”
I love a flyover but It was odd to see one over a mostly empty stadium but I am an unwavering patriot that loves this country, has always respected our flag, supported the men and women in the armed forces as well as those in uniform who serve & protect and for anyone to suggest
