Facing the prospect of having to play in a Buffalo snowstorm on Saturday, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has indicated that he’s not worried about the potential inclement weather because it “snowed in Alabama.”

“Could be snowing, could rain, I don’t know. It’s a mindset thing, really, and if I’m too focused and worried about, Is it too cold? Can I grab the ball or not? Then I’m focused on the wrong things and it’ll be hard to play that way.”

“It snowed in Alabama my first year. So it snows in Alabama, guys. People don’t know that,” Tagovailoa said. [via ProFootballTalk]

Tua and the Dolphins will take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night — yup, it’s already Saturday NFL football season — at 8:15 p.m. EST. It’ll be a key game for both Miami and Buffalo as the Dolphins look to strengthen their Wild Card position while the Bills are looking to further distance themselves as the AFC’s #1 overall seed to lock-up the postseason bye-week

Through ten games this season — the third-year QB missed a few games due to injury — Tua has completed 68% of his passes for 2,859 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. As things currently stand, the 8-5 Miami Dolphins are currently the #6 seed in the AFC Playoffs. If the season were to end today, they’d travel to Baltimore to take on the #3 seed Baltimore Ravens for a Wild Card round matchup.

Regardless of whether or not the Dolphins make the playoffs (they probably will as they’re better than both the Jets and Patriots, their primary competition for the Wild Card seeds), Tua’s career has been resurrected this season thanks to new head coach Mike McDaniel.
