Tulane’s Kicker Missed The Worst Extra Point Of All-Time By Ripping A Line Drive Under The Crossbar

Tulane Extra Point PAT Kicker Miss

Tulane cut into Oklahoma’s lead right before halftime of Saturday’s college football game in Norman. However, the Green Wave kicker could not convert on the extra point.

He missed the worst point after touchdown of all-time.

The Sooners quickly went up 21-0 during the first half. Quarterback Jackson Arnold moved the ball efficiently through the air and on the ground while the defense struggled to get off of the field.

On the flip side of things, Tulane could not get anything going in the passing game and was forced to rely on the run. It forced them into an early deficit that seemed insurmountable until a 12-play scoring drive at the end of the second quarter.

The Green Wave had life— but not for long!

Freshman kicker Ethan Head trotted on for the conversion wearing an untucked No. 63 jersey, which lacks any swagger whatsoever. He lined up for a standard PAT from 20 yards out and completely shanked it.

College football kickers often miss. They usually rip one too far to either side, the left or the right. Sometimes they doink it. Every once in awhile, they’ll leave one short on a long field goal before the half when there is nothing to lose so they just give it their best effort.

In this instance, Head managed to do the unthinkable.

His kick did not miss left or right. Nor did it go in. Nor did it hit either upright or the crossbar.

Head ripped a line drive kick under the crossbar.

Oklahoma did not get a hand on the ball. The kick was not blocked.

I have watched a lot of football games on every level: pop warner all the way up to the NFL. I can confidently say that I have never seen this before.

This is a first for me and it is, by far, the worst PAT of all-time!
