Tulane football is coming off of the greatest year in school history, but the program needs to restock its cup supply. They featured an embarrassing misprint over the weekend.
The Green Wave, which won just two games in 2021, pulled off the most remarkable turnaround in college football with a 12-win season in 2022 and a Cotton Bowl win over Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans. As a result, there is a buzz around the football team that has not existed since it left the SEC in 1964.
Yulman Stadium sold out its early-season matchup against Ole Miss. Fans are flocking to Uptown New Orleans on Saturdays for the first time in a very, very long time.
That was even true for the Week 5 game against a bad UAB team. Tulane had to mount a second-half comeback, during which Trent Dilfer lost his mind on his own assistant coaches, but it pulled off a 35-23 win at home.
Meanwhile, in the stands, Green Wave fans enjoyed some delicious game day snacks. Yulman Stadium’s food offerings are awesome. Some of the highlights include:
- Here Piggy Piggy
- Pork rind “nachos”, smoked pulled pork, queso, cotija cheese, salsa verde
- The Rougarou
- Duck gumbo poutine, pomme frites, cheese curd, pickled red onion
- Cajun Crawfish Fry Bread
- Deep fried pistolette, crawfish etouffee, chow chow
- Crawfish pies
- Boudin egg rolls
All of that sounds pretty good, but it sounds even better with an ice cold beer— which are only $3!
Of the other drink options, Superior Grill’s margaritas are near the top. They’re strong as hell.
However, as One Team One Podcast discovered on Saturday, the Superior Grill cup in which they are served this season are misinformed. They feature the 2023 schedule for… LSU. Not Tulane.
The Green Wave are finally demanding that people take them seriously as a program. And yet, out in the stands, the Superior Grill cups are doing them dirty by promoting perhaps their biggest rival.
This mistake might be entirely Superior Grill’s fault. However, Tulane needed to catch the error before it happens and get it straightened out. OOPS!
