Tulsa and Central Florida faced off over the weekend in each team’s regular season finale. And what an ending to the season it was.

UCF’s Darius Perry was at the stripe with his team leading by a score of 72-70, looking to ice the game in the contest’s final seconds. Perry, however, missed the free throw that would’ve given the Golden Knights a three-point lead.

What ensued was pure madness.

Tulsa’s Jeriah Horne quickly grabbed the rebound, dribbled near midcourt, and heaved a Hail Mary as time expired. That prayer wound up being answered as the ball swished through the basket to give Tulsa the win.

Check out the incredible shot below.

The three-pointer gave the Golden Hurricane a 73-72 victory over the favored Central Florida squad. It also gave the team just its fourth conference win on the season, improving their overall record to a disappointing 10-21.

The improbable outcome not only caused an exciting reaction from the basketball world, but it also ended one unlucky bettor’s opportunity at a $5,000 payday.

Tulsa’s Buzzer Beater Blows $5K Parlay

One unlucky bettor was on the wrong side of that impressive shot, and it cost them a huge payday.

The bettor had UCF money line as part of a three-leg parlay, with the other two legs having already hit. The +404 odds would’ve turned the $1,050 wager into an additional $4,250.

Rather than walking away with a $5,300 payout, the bettor was left with nothing.

It was certainly a tough way to end the weekend on what seemed to be a sure thing. There will only be more exciting finishes to come as conference tournaments lead us into March Madness.
