Michigan Wolverines freshman guard Jordan Poole made a miraculous shot to beat Houston in the NCAA Tournament. Jordan Peele, the actor, comedian and award-winning writer and director of the horror film Get Out, did not, but don’t tell Twitter.

Because despite the two men being completely different people, apparently dopes on the internet somehow weren’t able to make the distinction, blowing up Peele’s Twitter feed with congratulatory messages about “his” game-winning buzzer beater.

Naturally, considering his excellent sense of humor, Peele decided to have a little fun with it.

“I wanna thank everyone for the congratulatory messages. When you practice your jump shot as much as I have, you just hope one day it’ll pay off. 🏀,” tweeted Peele.

The man who DID actually make the shot, Jordan POOLE, saw Peele’s tweet and was pretty excited about being tied to the Academy Award winner.

“Lol congrats on the oscar big man!!! Much deserved! Huge fan of key and peele and get out was 🔥🔥 @JordanPeele,” wrote Poole.

Of course, Twitter couldn’t let this whole situation go without a few classic Key & Peele references.

Indeed.
