We have some college basketball drama that happened over a decade ago all thanks to John Wall’s story about his recruiting visit to UNC.
Well, it sounds like Tyler Hansbrough isn’t a fan of Wall’s story, as he was quick to defend himself and his school.
During an appearance on the Run Your Race podcast, Wall reveals that UNC was his “dream school.” However, he claims that a short conversation with UNC legend Tyler Hansbrough turned him off from the school completely and is why he chose to play for the Kentucky Wildcats. Give it a listen below.
This story on why John Wall chose Kentucky over his “dream school” UNC is wild 🤯

Considering how big of a star Hansbrough was back then, one could believe Wall’s story. Regardless, the UNC legend responded to John Wall claiming the former Kentucky star fabricated the entire story. He then throws some shade that caught some people’s attention.
The story @JohnWall told on @tpinsonn podcast DID NOT HAPPEN! 100% FALSE! I’m sure the bank of Calipari had nothing to do with him going to Kentucky

At the end of the day, this is a “he said, he said” situation. There is no real way of proving what transpired that day when John Wall visited UNC as a recruit. However, it’s clear these two have an ongoing feud that has lasted longer than a decade.
John Wall hasn’t responded to Tyler Hansbrough’s tweet yet. But we imagine he won’t take to it too kindly.
