The AT&T Byron Nelson got underway on Thursday as PGA players took the course just outside of Dallas. The field includes golf stars Scottie Scheffler, Jason Day, and Hideki Matsuyama but it was Tyrrell Hatton who stole the show in the opening round.

Hatton, who entered the day boasting the field’s second-best odds, shot three under par on Day 1. That’s put him eight strokes behind current leader Noh Seung-yul and in a tie for 35th place.

While he may not have wowed viewers with his opening performance, a clip from his first day is now going viral.

On the ninth hole, Hatton found the sand trap.

Visibly upset, the cameras then caught maybe the best reaction to a shot on Tour this season.

Hatton flipped two birds at the bunker as his frustrations got the best of him. While the golfer was irritated with his shot, viewers online couldn’t help but laugh.

Many quickly posted their replies on social media.

One golf fan wrote, “Tyrrell Hatton is me,” while another person said, “Tyrrell Hatton is my hero.”

This fan couldn’t help but state the obvious.

The on-course tantrum is nothing new to Hatton, who’s often seen letting his emotions get the best of him on the links. He’s also been seeing flipping off a pond in a past tournament as it seems no hazards on the golf course are safe.

Not the best day for one of the tournament’s front runners. We’ll see if he can recover to have a better performance on Friday.
