On Sunday it was reported that Trinity Gay, 15-year-old daughter of US Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay, had died as the tragic result of a shooting.

Authorities said that Trinity Gay, a member of the track team at Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky, was shot in the neck during a shootout between two cars at around 4 a.m. Gay, who was not in either car, was transported to UK Hospital, but died from her injuries just before 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Today TMZ reports that three men have been arrested in conjunction with the shooting including a father and son…

A father and his son have been arrested in connection with the death of Tyson Gay’s 15-year-old daughter … after officials say they were in a shootout with a 21-year-old man when a stray bullet struck the young girl.

The U.S. Olympic sprinter’s daughter, Trinity, was killed early Sunday morning when she was hit in the neck outside the Cook Out restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky around 4 AM.

Cops say they believe the man who likely fired the fatal shot is 21-year-old D’Vonta Middlebrooks — who was allegedly shooting at a car containing 38-year-old Chazerae Taylor and his 19-year-old son D’Markeo.

The Taylors and Middlebrooks have been charged with wanton endangerment. Middlebrooks also was booked on a weapons charge.

Police say that they are still investigating the shooting.
