UFC Fight Night took place on Saturday night and it was a decent card overall.
There were plenty of solid bouts and it was entertaining throughout. However, Istela Nunes’ nasty elbow injury was all everyone could talk about from the UFC event.
Nunes was taking on Viktoriya Dudakova in what was supposed to be a great fight for the womens strawweight division.
But barely 30 seconds into the bout, Istela Nunes defended a takedown attempt from Dudakova and it didn’t go as planned.
Nunes held her hand out break her fall, but instead completely dislocated her elbow. The fight was stopped immediately as there was no way for her to continue.
Later that evening, UFC President Dana White shared the x-ray results of Nunes’ elbow injury. Fair warning, the first image may be shocking to some readers.

Yeah. That’s gotta hurt. It’s one of the worst elbow dislocations I’ve ever seen, especially in a sport.
Luckily for Nunes, the UFC star already has her elbow back in place. Later that evening, Dana White shared the update.

Currently there is no update as to when Istela Nunes may return. But based on the injury she sustained, it might be awhile before she’s back in action.
She has a long road to recovery, so hopefully everything goes smoothly throughout the healing process.
