We’ve seen a new world developing in college sports since this summer. When NIL rules were changed to the benefit of the athletes, things suddenly started to change. These changes have been met with differing reactions from around college sports.
Some coaches have complained about them and the way they impact recruiting and the transfer portal. Others have utilized it as a way to improve their recruiting classes. The players just seem happy to finally be profiting from their hard work.
The one thing we haven’t seen yet since the rise of NIL is a school actively providing their athletes with resources to help them get NIL deals. That changed today with an announcement from the University of Oregon.
The University of Oregon is excited to announce the first licensed school marketplace in college sports, which will support UO student-athletes in maximizing name, image, and likeness opportunities. #GoDucks

The groundbreaking new program from the Ducks will make it easier for licensed third parties to contact players in order to discuss NIL opportunities with them and to pay the players for those opportunities.
The players will also be able to promote these accounts on social media to maximize their opportunities.
It is great to see a university really throw their full support behind their athletes like this. These kinds of innovations are exactly what the world of college sports needs as players learn to utilize the new rules.
We can only hope that more schools will follow the lead of the University of Oregon and give their players support in finding as much success as possible in the NIL era.
