There appears to be friction between US Women’s National Team players and former soccer player turned analyst Carli Lloyd.

Earlier this week, Lloyd went viral when she ripped into the USWNT for dancing and celebrating after a lackluster performance.

“There’s a difference between being respectful of the fans and being ‘hello’ to your family. But to be dancing? To be smiling? I mean, the player of the match was that post. You are lucky not to be going home right now,”

US Women’s National Team captain Lindsey Horan fired back at Lloyd during a recent press conference.

“Yeah, you know, it’s kind of frustrating for me to hear that, knowing this team and knowing how much preparation we put into every single game, seeing our trainings, seeing how hard we work.”

“You can’t question that we didn’t want to win the game. You can’t question that we weren’t working as hard as we possibly could. We know that things could have been better. We know that we could have done more. We know that we could have scored opportunities. It was a really good team that we faced.”

“Again, it’s noise and again, it’s an opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.”
